Team DASSAULT is a group of individuals from the Dassault Systemes community (employees, customers, resellers, partners, and friends) who join together in supporting various charity events and organizations. The team was formerly named Team SolidWorks until 2008 when we merged with Team Simulia, a sister company of Dassault Systemes.

What's in a name? The name DASSAULT means "For Assault" or "For Attack" in French. Dassault Systemes was a spin off of Dassault Aviation which was originally founded by Marcel Bloch, an aviation pioneer. Bloch later changed his name to Dassault, an alias his brother had used in the French Resistance. Team Attack (as translated to English) is a perfect name for a cycling team (since cycling's roots are so firmly grounded in French culture). For more information on Dassault history, click here.

We participate in numerous events and causes including:

The Pan-Massachusetts Challenge

The primary event that we participate in is the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge (PMC - www.pmc.org) a 192 mile bike-a-thon which takes place in August of each year. We have been riding in the event since 2002 raising a total of over $1.5 Million. This fundraiser supports The Jimmy-Fund which is the fundraising arm of The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, one of the premier cancer research and treatment facilities in the world.

TREK 100

In 2007, we started participating in the TREK 100 Ride for Hope. This is a 100 mile fundraising ride in Milwaukee, WI which supports the MACC Fund. All proceeds from the event go to critical pediatric cancer and related blood disorder research efforts.

Minnesota MS150

In 2007, a group of 5 SolidWorks customers participated in the Minnesota MS150. All proceeds from the event go to critical pediatric cancer and related blood disorder research efforts.

Mount Washington Hill Climbs

Individuals from Team DASSAULT participate in two charity bicycle events up Mount Washington each year. These are arguably the two hardest cycling climbs in the world. The Mount Washington Auto Road Hillclimb benefits the Tin Mountian Conservation Center and Newton's Revenge benefits the Mount Washington Observatory.

Concord-Carlisle Community Chest Challenge

Each year, one or more teams from SolidWorks Corporation participates in this event which is a triathlon of running, cycling and canoe paddling. The event benefits human service organizations in the Concord and Carlisle area of Massachusetts.
